Grant Making Process
Application Process
If an organization believes its mission, purpose and/or
program fits within the Price Foundation’s mission and grantmaking
guidelines, it is invited to apply for a grant as follows:
Letter of Inquiry
To be considered, all organizations must first send a letter (on company letterhead) of not more than two pages that describes:
1. The organization and its experience in the field. Please include the year the organization began operating.
2. What does the organization propose to do; why is the
project or program needed; how will it be administered and by whom; who
will be served and where; how will the organization evaluate success; and
how does the project or program relate to the Foundation’s areas of
concern.
3. The amount and terms of the grant request, how the funds
will be used, the amount of the total project/program and organization's overall budget, and other
sources of funds.
4. Please include your tax id # within the letter. It is not necessary to attach the IRS tax exemption letter.
The
Foundation does not have deadlines. Organizations will receive a response to Letters of Inquiry within 30 days of our receiving the LOI.
Please send
all letters of inquiry to our Louisville, Colorado address listed
at the bottom of this page. You may address the inquiries to Kishawn Leuthauser, Vice President.
Full Proposal
If the letter of inquiry is approved for further
consideration you will be contacted with further information. Additional materials about the organization may need to be
sent such as:
The most recent certified audit report, if available.
The most recent annual report, if published.
Each proposal
selected for consideration is reviewed by staff. In the course of the
review, staff may undertake a site visit or meet with the respective grantee
representatives. Following staff review and recommendation for further
consideration, proposals are forwarded on a periodic basis to the Board of
Trustees for final consideration. Once the Board makes it decision, the
applicant is contacted by letter shortly thereafter informing the
organization of the Board's decision.
Follow-up Reporting and Assessment
An organization receiving a grant is generally expected to
report on the progress of its project or program. In order to achieve
uniformity of follow-up reports and assessments, the Foundation may ask
certain grantees to complete the Price
Foundation Grant Reporting Form (a Word document). If requested, the
Form should be completed by the date indicated in the grantee’s original
grant award letter.
